Common questions

Things guests often ask

What is the process after I make an enquiry?

After you submit the form or call us, a member of the Tongkang Bay team will be in touch within one business day. We'll confirm availability, walk through what the charter includes, and outline the next steps for securing the date.

How far in advance should I book?

For the Morning Calm Cruise, one to two weeks' notice is generally enough. The Full-Day Island Passage and the Weekend Coastal Voyage are popular on weekends and public holidays, so three to four weeks ahead is advisable for those. Last-minute requests are still welcome — we'll always check what's possible.

What happens if the weather is poor on the day?

The captain monitors sea and weather conditions in the days leading up to each departure. If conditions are assessed as unsuitable, we'll contact you as early as possible to discuss rescheduling. Guest safety is the primary consideration in any such decision.

Can I bring food or drinks onboard?

Each charter already includes catering as listed in the description. You're welcome to bring a bottle of something to mark a special occasion — just mention it when you enquire so we can accommodate it properly. Outside catering arrangements can be discussed in advance.

Is there a minimum number of guests required?

No minimum applies. Each charter is priced as a full vessel hire, so whether you come as two people or a full group, the quoted price remains the same. The capacity listed for each voyage is the maximum number of guests the vessel comfortably accommodates.

Are children welcome onboard?

Children are welcome on all three charters. Please mention their ages when you enquire so the crew can prepare appropriately — life jackets in the right sizes are available onboard. The Morning Calm Cruise tends to work well for families with younger children.

What are the payment terms?

A deposit is required to confirm your booking date, with the balance due before departure. We'll outline the specific terms clearly when we follow up on your enquiry. Payment details and methods will be shared at that stage.
